Old properties have a past. With each walk around the land, we learn more about the past at Six Michigan Acres. What happened here during decades long gone discloses itself through discoveries and findings daily. Today, we came upon a picnic table.
This relic was buried in a section of trees north of the woodpile, which resides near the fire pit. We’ve been plotting a path from here to an old pine on land’s western line. With a multiple options open for our future wood-chipped trail, we needed to venture into the vines and ground growth to better visualize the best trail trajectory.
Then, there it was… an old picnic table.
Melissa and I drug the find out of the woods. The style and extensive deterioration said this antique sat for some years. But, it looked restorable.
Sand blast the metal, remove and replace the wood, seal and reassemble. We’ll have ourselves a new resource for relaxing.
